- To renew a passport you will need the old passport, two new color,
2" x 2" passport sized photos, and a valid driver's license.
- Anyone with a passport issued more than 15 years ago and/or who
was under the age of 16 at the time, must apply for a new passport in
person.
- *A child under 18, without a driver's license, must have a parent
with him or her. A parent's driver's license can be used as ID for
the minor.
- Social security numbers are mandatory for all persons over the
age of two.
- The fee for an adult passport is $100.00. Bring a check for
$75.00 made payable to U.S. Department of State along
with $25.00 in cash or check payable to Morris County Clerk.
- The fee for a child's passport is $85.00. Bring a check for
$60.00 made payable to U.S. Department of State along
with $25.00 in cash or check payable to Morris County Clerk.
Please note a child is considered anyone under the age of 16.
- Separate checks are required for all applicants..
- It will take approximately 20 to 25 working days to process
a passport renewal.
- If your most recent passport was issued less than 15 years ago and you were over 16 years old at the time of issuance, you may be eligible to use form DS-82 (see mail-in application).
* Children 16 years and under must appear in person with both parents,
provide a certified copy of their birth certificate indicating the
names of the parents, and submit previous passport if issued. If
only one parent can appear, this parent must have a notarized consent
form from the absentee parent,explaining why he or she can not appear.
Single parent households must provide primary evidence of sole custody
(Court Order,Divorce Decree,Death Certificate,etc.).
